Engine & Drivetrain- More power
Need extra power? The Pioneer 520 delivers with its improved 518 cc liquid-cooled engine. That extra 43 cc provides a torque boost and increased low-to-midrange performance that make tough jobs or tough trails even easier to handle.
- Efficient engine
The Pioneer 520’s upgraded liquid-cooled engine is mounted longitudinally. By orienting the crankshaft front to back in the chassis, the flow of power is straight to the wheels without any right angle detours, reducing powertrain friction and putting more grunt to the ground.
- Ample ground clearance
By using an overhead-valve layout and a semi-dry-sump lubrication system, engine height is significantly reduced, lowering centre of gravity while also improving ground clearance.
Chassis & Suspension- Durable construction
A strong steel chassis is designed to help the Pioneer 520 remain stable in rough going, and its heavy-duty construction will help it stand up to rough punishment on the job site or recreational trail.
- Improved handling & comfort
The independent front and rear suspension systems — with improved spring rates, damping performance and updated front A-arms for 2021 — provide comfort and control over even tough terrain. Plus, the rear swaybar has been removed to make for an even smoother ride.
- Dynamic control
With 147 mm (5.8 in.) of front suspension travel and 150 mm (5.9 in.) at the rear, plus 217 mm (8.5 in.) of ground clearance, the Pioneer 520 can negotiate difficult terrain with ease.
Additional- Durable tilt box
Working with a heavy load just got a whole lot easier. The Pioneer 520’s new gas-assisted tilt box can carry a full 450 lb of wood, gravel, tools, and feed with a slot for 3/4 inch plywood and patterned slots shaped into the bed for milk crates and buckets. And with a secure tailgate and a suite of available Pro-Connect™ modular accessories, you might never run out of ways to put your Pioneer to work. But when it is time to take a break, enjoy the added comfort of the cup holder rings in the tailgate.
- Easier maintenance
Attractive, rugged bodywork gives the Pioneer 520 an aggressive, functional look. The easily removable hood and seat cushions, plus the repositioned battery and air filter, also help to simplify maintenance.
